Measurement Guide
Before ordering your new cabinets from Riverbend Cabinet Supply, it’s important to take accurate measurements of your space. Even if you plan to have one of our professionals measure later (which we recommend), having preliminary measurements helps us design your layout and provide an accurate estimate. Measurement Guide is provided below:
Tools You’ll Need
Tape measure (preferably 25’ or longer)
Pencil and eraser
Graph paper or plain paper
Straight edge or ruler
Step stool or ladder (for ceiling height)
Step 1
Draw a Rough Sketch of Your Space
- Sketch the outline of your kitchen, bath, or laundry room.
- Include all walls, doors, windows, and major openings.
- Label each wall (Wall A, Wall B, etc.) for clarity.
Step 2
Measure Wall Lengths
- Measure each wall from corner to corner in inches.
- Write the dimensions directly on your sketch.
- Double-check for accuracy
Step 3
Note Doors, Windows, and Openings
- Measure the width and height of every door and window.
- Mark how far they are from the nearest corner.
- Include trim when measuring.
Step 4
Mark Appliances & Fixtures
- Record the location and size of appliances: refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, etc.
- Mark any plumbing fixtures (sink, dishwasher, laundry hookups).
- Include electrical panels, outlets, and vents that may affect cabinet placement.
Step 5
Measure Floor to Ceiling Height
- Measure ceiling height at multiple points (some ceilings are uneven).
- Note if there are soffits, beams, or angled ceilings.
- Record where they are on your sketch.
Step 6
Double-Check & Label
- Label everything clearly: windows, doors, appliances, water lines, and gas lines.
- Double-check your measurements before submitting.
